What is a slip sheet?
A slip sheet is a thin, pallet-sized sheet made from laminated heavy-duty paperboard or durable HDPE plastic. Slip sheets are about 5 inches longer and wider than a standard pallet to allow a push-pull forklift attachment gripper to grab the sheet.
Aoli pack produces 2 materials of slip sheet.
One is plastic slip sheet, which is made of virgin or recycled HDPE. Its thickness is from 0.7mm to 3.0mm, with loading weight of 400KG-3000KG. It is suitable for loading export cargo or cycle many times in customers’ own warehouse.
The other is paper slip sheet, which is made of kraft paper. Its thickness is from 0.5mm to 1.7mm, with loading weight of 200-2000KG. It is suitable for loading export cargo.
Slip sheet is a perfect alternative of traditional wooden or plastic pallet, with lower costs, smaller volume, lighter weight and easier recycling.
Unlike wooden pallets, slip sheets secure products with horizontal pushing, ensuring better load stability. This minimizes shifting and reduces the risk of damaged goods, costly returns, and wasted inventory.
Slip sheets offer some key benefits compared to pallets:
Cost effective: 15% of wooden pallet, 10% of plastic pallet.
Small volume: 1% of wooden of plastic pallet, add loading quantity for container or truck.
Ligher weight: 5% of the wooden or plastic pallet.
Recyclable: material is HDPE or kraft paper, easier to recycle than wood.
Lower transportation cost – a slip sheet weighs 5% of the weight of a pallet and eliminates 4” of height, resulting in a considerable saving in transportation costs.
Environmentally friendly – you can easily reuse, recycle and safely discard slip sheets at the end of their life cycle. Slip sheets also create less demand on landfills than pallets. On the other hand, pallets take up more space and need to be returned and repaired if damaged. They must also be disposed of properly at the end of their useful life.
Less susceptible to contamination – Pallets can become contaminated with spilled product, compromising their reuse. They are also the ideal nesting spots for insects and rodents. A contaminated slip sheet can just be discarded or recycled.
